Building and Celebrating Community

Our fundraising events build lasting personal connections across all ages while raising significant amounts of money for the benefit of our school. In many ways, they intentionally exemplify our Habits of Mind in action.

We rely upon volunteers to design and plan our annual spring auction, and students to lead Jogathon, because we know the school can most effectively fulfill its mission when fundraising is cultivated in an enthusiastic, generous, and thankful community that includes all ages and experience.  Participation is meaningful, impactful… and fun!

Thank you!

Jogathon

Student-led fundraising

“Set your pace, it’s not a race!”

Sequoyah's Jogathon introduces students to fundraising in support of a collective purpose—in this case, our founder’s commitment to establish and sustain an independent school community that is socioeconomically diverse. K-8 students run at nearby Singer Park, while high school students complete a 5K through Pasadena’s Arroyo Seco. All students are encouraged to ask for contributions, and many donations come from beyond their immediate families. Students feel ownership through goal setting, individual achievement, and knowing they worked hard to make their school a better place for all.

The 2023 Jogathon raised $47,674.

2022 Auction

Community Auction

Volunteer-led fundraising

Sequoyah’s Community Auction is our annual opportunity to come together and enjoy food, fun, and phenomenal music, all while raising funds to benefit students and teachers.

Thanks to the generous donations of families and friends, the Auction allows Sequoyah to offer art, vacation opportunities, homemade items and one-of-a-kind experiences to the community. In 2023, the auction raised more than $151,600 to help the school while bringing parents, grandparents, and more together as volunteers.

Thanks to everyone who keeps the Sequoyah community vibrant!
